1. General Information
From July 19 to September 03, 2010, Cologne University of Applied Sciences will offer a variety of different course programs for university students who like to travel, study, and receive academic credit in the same time. This page will give you more information on the programs' framework and general conditions. Please check the individual programs' sites to find out more about course contents, schedules, and teaching staff.
Please note that all courses are taught in English. For more information on special offers for certified interpreters and translators, please see the link listed under the course titles.
Tuition
The tuition fees for the courses offered vary according to course duration and the course program contents. You will find each tuition fee listed when you click on the name of a summer school course.
Our tuition fees include all coursework, coursework-related company visits or excursions, and administrative support by the international office.
Costs for housing, additional books, meals, and extra-curricular activities other than the above-mentioned program contents are not included in the tuition fee!
Accommodation
Cologne University of Applied Sciences has reserved rooms for you in a partner hotel.
In the download section of this page on the right you can find a reservation request form you can fax to the hotel directly. The price for a single room there is 56 Euro including a breakfast buffet.
The summer school partner hotel IBIS Centrum is located near Barbarossaplatz, Neue Weyerstraße 4, 50676 Köln, which is only a few tram stops away from Cologne University of Applied Sciences and in convenient distance to restaurants, shopping areas, and public transportation.

Location
Most courses will be held at the CUAS buildings in Claudiusstraße and Mainzer Straße in the South of Cologne. Some courses take place at CUAS's Engineering Center in the east of Cologne or at our campus Gummersbach, about 45 km east of Cologne. At all locations, there are student cafeterias open for breakfast and lunch as well as several cafes and restaurants close by.

After we received your registration form, we will send you a confirmation and the course fee invoice. Please note that a reservation is only valid if we received your registration form as well as your payment by May 31, 2009! If there are places left after this deadline, we might accept further applications.
As the total number of students for each course is limited, it is essential to register as early as possible, as registration will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Methods of Payment
All payments need to be made in full in Euro in the amount of your invoice. If you transfer money from abroad, please note that you are required to assume all fees associated with such a transfer of funds.

Insurance
Please make sure to have appropriate health insurance for your stay in Germany. Our tuition fee does not cover any costs of illness or injury. Please contact your health insurance provider to inquire if your insurance policy covers medical treatment during your stay in Germany. We urge you to obtain additional health insurance coverage if necessary. If you do not know how to obtain proper health insurance, we can recommend some German providers for you.
Also, we recommend you to buy accident insurance and liability insurance for your stay in Germany. There are policies which cover all of the above at a reasonable price.
