Competence Platform of Cologne University of Applied Sciences (KOPF)
In view of advancing globalisation, volatile demographic developments and migration trends, German society faces the task of addressing the phenomena of multiculturalisation and internationalisation and the resulting problems. The Competence Platform for "migration, intercultural education and the development of organisations and institutions" is an innovative research and development unit, which seeks to pave the way for a long-term interdisciplinary networking of intercultural research and development. One key aim of the Competence Platform is to deepen the know-how accumulated at the university in this field and make it available to different groups of users inside and outside the university in an applications-focused way. Simultaneously, this is a further building block towards creating a regional competence, innovation and training centre for intercultural issues.
