With approximately 18,000 students in over 45 disciplines taught by 450 professors, Cologne University of Applied Sciences is the largest of its kind in Germany. Alongside its diversified and high-quality course offerings and research projects Cologne University of Applied Sciences is a popular co-operation partner both inside and outside Germany and has close ties with various domestic and international universities.
The hallmarks of studies in Cologne and Gummersbach are application-focused interdisciplinary teaching, a dynamic further development of course offerings, integrated on-the-job semesters and short study periods. The University of Applied Sciences offers diploma courses with a duration of seven or eight semesters, divided into a foundation and specialisation period with and without on-the-job training semesters and the diploma examination. Many students also take the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at a foreign university and or complete an on-the-job semester abroad. The internationally recognised six-semester bachelor's courses also offer a qualified university degree for a fast career start. You can also add a four-semester master's course to deepen your scientific knowledge.
The international focus of Cologne University of Applied Sciences is mirrored by its international courses, many partnerships and over 3,000 foreign students from 93 countries.

Its research and technology transfer comprises products, processes and services from all the fields of science taught at the university. There are also good contacts with industrial companies in Cologne, making it an ideal location for this university thanks to a wide range of different industries and a catchment area with over 2 million inhabitants. With over 80,000 large and medium-sized enterprises, virtually all fields of business and manufacturing and service industries are represented here with a spectrum ranging from the motor and chemicals industries through the media, banks and insurance companies to the finishing and supplier industries.

Overview of the Faculties
Cologne University of Applied Sciences consists of ten faculties, which comprise various institutes. They form the basic organisational units of the university and are directed by a faculty council and dean or a dean's office. The faculty currently offer a total of 50 courses. Please consult the faculty's and institutes' websites for more details on the individual courses, contents and study requirements. 
Overview of the locations
Cologne University of Applied Sciences has three locations: The Ingenieurwissenschaftliches Zentrum - IWZ - (Engineering Sciences Centre) in Cologne-Deutz, the Geisteswissenschaftliches Zentrum - GWZ - (Humanities Centre) in the south of Cologne, and Campus Gummersbach, approx. 50 km from Cologne.
